Born in Philadelphia PA and residing in Western MA. Adam has performed with many groups. A transformative experience in his life was spending a year in the maroon creole village of Gales Point Manatee in Belize. He played cowbell and traveled  with Tala Wala Vibration drumming ensemble on the road various performances, as well as participated in the village Sambai drum and dance. This cultural emersion and contrast with his suburban upbringing had a profound effect on Adam’s life and musical focus.  

(The love of farming he discovered in Belize translated into camping out in a tent in the bush , cooking on the fire, and drinking from the creek water. Since then Adam has spent much time growing produce. )

Having first been encapsulated with the sounds of classic rock , hard rock, and grunge - Adam discovered a different kind of love when listening and playing reggae music. Feeling the connection to the sound, Adam began an ongoing relationship with the mystical world of Rastafari. ‘I am so blessed to have been able to play this music with people from all over the world and connect in the sound, motion, and movement of Reggae Music inspired by Rastafari. Higher consciousness ,social and environmental justice, reality vs illusion, and of the infinite wisdom of ancient cultures and mother nature. I respect and revere the mystical consciousness that can unite players, singers, seekers, and dancers.’  

Attending Hampshire College he formed Mystafine Band as guitarist and songwriter , and went on to perform in the new england region as well as record two albums TUFFER THAN WAR and BOOMBLAST! . From there he has played guitar and/or bass in multiple groups including Reggae Vision, Rebelle, One Band International, Soullution, Will Lettman and Knewness Ensemble, Baraka Oyuru and Diversity Coalition Forces, Addis Revolution, and a 9 year run with The Equalites. As bassist, background vocal, as well as lead vocal and songwriter on many songs with the Equalites . His original song ‘Where There Is Love’ was recorded and part of the band’s 2015 album ‘Rethink Positive.'

After becoming a father , he stepped away from full-time work with the Equalites for a few years .  Adam now performs originals with a full band he fronts ' Adam S.Z & Friends' - shows always deliver powerful performance to get the crowd dancing , focusing on his original songs as well as choice cover versions .  He also works as a solo acoustic artist playing an eclectic mix of songs and styles at variety of breweries and farmers markets.  In addition he has performed with Don Minott & High Voltage Reggae Band and The Riddim Makers.

In August of 2023 Adam released his first single as a solo artist 'This World' - mixed by Angelo Quaglia and 'This World Dub' mixed by Andrew 'Moon' Bain.   

Adam has performed at many venues including Charlemont Reggae Festival, Ziontific Festival, Bella Terra Festival, Extravaganja, Stone Church, Bishops Lounge, Wendell Reggae Festival, Ocean Mist, Grizlies (Stratton Mt), Pickle Barrel, Garlic and Arts Festival

After composing music , lyrics, and honing his craft for decades Adam SZ is the ongoing culmination of this spirit . Inspired by the suggestion of grammy nominated artist Yosouph Siddibe in 2015, Adam has been working in studio to put definitive versions of many of his originals . Songs like ‘This World’ (with music video) , ‘Shake It’, ‘Day and Night’, ‘Haze’ and ‘Love Zone.’. 

"This World' and 'This World Dub' (mixed by Andrew 'Moon' Bain/Zion I Kings) was released in August of 2023.   

In March of 2024 the next single 'Day & Night' and 'Day & Night Dub' will be released , both mixed by Andrew 'Moon' Bain / Zion I Kings.     There is a whole batch of more original music he looks to release regularly, with accompanying Dub and Video when possible.

Adam's music is always evolving. ’My goal is to share my music with the world to foster connection and positive change in the way we treat each other. We all are one, there is much illusion in the world and it brings pain and suffering when we don’t see each other as family.  I hope my music can inspire others the way so much music has inspired me to look within with acceptance and love, and then project that outward to the people and all life and the natural world.’
